Data and credits
Where the map data, heights and surveys come from, and how to credit them.
Models are built from open data. When sharing or selling prints, credit OpenStreetMap contributors and the Overture Maps Foundation for a model made from map data, the elevation it was made from, and any LiDAR survey the model used. Model details in the 3D view lists the elevation sources and the surveys, and exported 3MF files include them.
- Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and the Overture Maps Foundation.
- Elevation from Mapterhorn, made from Copernicus GLO-30 (© DLR e.V. 2010-2014 and © Airbus Defence and Space GmbH 2014-2018, provided under COPERNICUS by the European Union and ESA, all rights reserved) and the national elevation models of many countries, each under its own open license. With Elevation data set to AWS Terrain Tiles, from the AWS Terrain Tiles open dataset (Mapzen).
- Basemap © OpenFreeMap, OpenMapTiles, OpenStreetMap contributors. Satellite imagery © Esri and its partners. Racetracks in models come from the same OpenFreeMap vector tiles, since Overture doesn't have them.
- Racetrack laps under Routes are traced from OpenStreetMap's raceways and roads (ODbL). Monaco, the Slovakia Ring, and a few street circuits come from Global Motorsport Circuits under the Apache License 2.0, placed on OpenStreetMap. Both are in racetracks-license.txt.
- Towns and cities in the place search from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0), with city centers from OpenStreetMap. Streets and addresses from Photon by komoot, and from Nominatim when Photon is down. Both search OpenStreetMap data.
- Fonts for text on a model: Montserrat, Josefin Sans, Overpass, Fredoka One, Oswald, Bebas Neue, Copperplate CC, Cinzel, Bitter, Alfa Slab One, Courier Prime, Bungee, Saira Stencil One, Orbitron, Righteous, Pacifico, and Grenze Gotisch, under the SIL Open Font License. The Hershey Fonts were originally created by Dr. A. V. Hershey while working at the U.S. National Bureau of Standards. The format of the font data was originally created by James Hurt, Cognition, Inc. Glyph data from hersheytext.
- Licenses of the code the site bundles are in licenses.txt and, for the LAZ and elevation decoders, laz-decoder-notices.txt and elevation-decoder-notices.txt.
