Quick start
Make a 3D printable model in a few minutes.
Jarvizar City Model turns any area of the map into a multicolor 3D printable model. Terrain, water, parks, roads, buildings, and trees are separate parts, so each can print in its own filament color. The model is built in the browser.
- Type a town, address, or landmark in the search box under Area, or choose a ready-made area from the dropdown arrow beside Examples. Dragging the box on the map works too.
- Under Size, pick the Printer and check the printed size. Drag a corner of the box to include more or less of the map. See Size and scale.
- Press Generate model. The map data downloads and the model is built in the browser. A small area of map data takes under a minute, and LiDAR takes longer. The 3D view opens when it's ready.
- Check the model. Drag to turn it, and scroll or pinch to zoom. If something isn't right, change the setting and press Generate again.
- Press Download .3mf for a Bambu Studio project and open it with File > Open Project. Pick the filaments, press Purging volumes and Re-calculate, then slice. For another slicer, pick it under Export first. See Download for a slicer.
Notes
- Start with a small area. An area 1 to 3 km across builds quickly, and prints 70 to 210 mm across at the default scale.
- On a phone or a narrow window, the settings are behind the button at the top left of the page. It's a sliders icon, with Settings beside it when there's room.
- Map and 3D model at the top switch between the map and the model.
- Changing colors, the printer, or anything under Export doesn't need the model generated again. Changing the area, a route, or a setting under Size, Model, or Layers does, and the model is marked as out of date until it's generated again.
- Settings, routes, and edits are saved in this browser. The model itself isn't, so after a reload press Generate model again.
- Ctrl+Z undoes the last change to the area or the settings, and Ctrl+Y redoes it. The arrows next to the logo do the same.
- To find any setting by name, type in Search settings at the top of the sidebar, or press /.
The examples are models made with the app. Open one to load its area, settings, and colors, then generate it.
