Help / Edit in 3D
3D view
Turn and zoom the model, hide parts, and read its details and warnings.
The 3D view opens when the model is ready. Map and 3D model at the top of the page switch between the map and the model.
Move around
- Mouse
- Drag to turn the model. Right-drag to pan. Scroll to zoom in towards the pointer.
- Trackpad
- Drag to turn. Pinch or scroll with two fingers to zoom. Hold Ctrl and drag to pan.
- Touch
- Drag with one finger to turn. Pinch to zoom, and drag with two fingers to pan.
Find a setting
Click anything in the model to show its settings in the sidebar. A building goes to its type under Layers > Buildings, a road to its type under Layers > Roads, a park to its kind under Parks and land cover, the bare ground to Terrain, and the sides of the base to Base thickness under Model. The row opens and is outlined for a moment.
In a narrow window or on a phone, tap it, then tap Settings on the message at the bottom.
Buttons at the top
- Edit
- Opens the editor. See Edit the model.
- Parts
- Lists the parts of the model. Untick one to hide it. Hidden parts are not included in the download, for example to print only the buildings. Show all brings them back.
- Reset view
- Goes back to the starting view, at an angle.
- View from above
- Looks straight down, with the top of the area at the top.
- Show print bed
- Draws the printer's bed under the model, with a line every 10 mm. Hide print bed hides it.
- Model details
- The scale, how many triangles, buildings, roads, and trees the model has, the map data and surveys it used, and how long it took.
- Save screenshot
- Saves a picture of the view.
Size and warnings
The label at the top left gives the printed width, depth, and height. When something needs attention, like a tree limit or a survey that couldn't be read, a button like 2 warnings shows beside it. Click it for the list, or the X beside it to dismiss them until the model is generated again.
Once a setting changes, the view says the model is out of date and offers Generate again.
If the view stays blank, or says The 3D view stopped, see Troubleshooting.
